Course Outline GLAS Training Requirements Advisors Role Creating a Training Event Running a Training Event Payments

GLAS Training requirements All GLAS participants must complete training in environmental practices & standards before end of 2nd full calendar year i.e. 31st December 2017 for GLAS 1 & 2 and 31st December 2018 for GLAS 3 Training course of 6 hour duration (10am -5pm) over 2 sessions At least 1 session on host farm (GLAS participant) – must incl. actions being delivered by attendees Max. 25 attendees per event

GLAS Training Advisors GLAS Training courses can only be delivered by a GLAS Approved Trainer All registered Trainers must: Be an approved GLAS Advisor linked to an agency Hold an active AGT number Possess Professional Indemnity Insurance Outside experts/specialists can be incorporated into the course delivery If an attendee is in a Commonage Management Plan, an approved Commonage Adviser must deliver this module of the training

Creating a Training Event GLAS Training online system Date, Location, Time, Participants, Host farm Created a minimum of 5 WORKING DAYS prior to delivery Only one training event allowed per day Participants can be added or removed up to 24 hours before course commences Cancellation up to 5.00 p.m. on last working day before scheduled date

Training Event Trainer must circulate attendance sheet generated on the online system at the start of morning session AND end of afternoon session for signature Attendance sheet must be uploaded to online system within 10 days Participants MUST attend AM & PM session Participant must attend themselves. Nominees may be granted in exceptional circumstances e.g. Medical illness. Prior approval for nominee must be obtained from GLAS Training Section, prior to Course commencement. Training events will be subject to Dept. Inspection – non- compliances may result in penalties to the Trainer &/or Participant

Payment GLAS Trainer is the beneficiary, and payments are made to the Agency associated to the Trainer. Participant - €158 GLAS Trainer - €80/valid Participant (Max participant no. = €2000) Payments are made in two stages. 1st stage is participant payment and 2nd stage, trainer’s payment, is made once all participants have been paid by the Agency and proof uploaded to the online system. Payments are dependant on verified attendances including attendance sheets uploaded within 10 days of completing the course No payment will issue for unverified attendees Only one payment will be made in relation to joint applicants/partnerships/companies
