Implementing Revit and Putting ACE BIM and CAD Standards ACE Project for Implementing Revit and Putting ACE BIM and CAD Standards
Meeting Agenda Overview for Revit and benefits of the system Explain program for implementation of Revit system Request for names of participants to be trained in Revit to be Department key user Request one old & one new project as a trial for Revit Discuss any concerns in changing from existing system to Revit Questions
Overview All Revit-based products are Parametric Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools. These tools are similar to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) programs but are used to build 3D models as well as 2D drawings. In Revit, you place real-world elements like columns and walls into the model. Once the model is built, you can create model views such as sections and callouts. Views are generated from the 3D physical model; consequently, changes made in one view automatically propagate through all views. This virtually eliminates the need to update multiple drawings and details when you make changes to the model
Benefits of Revit Software Program 3D model will be beneficial as a marketing tool for new clients. There are 3 separate programmes which can be integrated, namely: Revit Architecture 2012 Revit Structure 2012 Revit MEP 2012

Flexibility In Projects As each program is separate but can be joined together it allows Maintain consistency. Design your add-in application seamlessly. Create, edit, and delete model elements like floors, walls, columns, and more. Create add-ins to automate repetitive tasks. Automatically create project documentation.

In Order to Implement This Plan The Following Issues need to be Addressed Complete ACE CAD manuals. Nominate 1-2 people from each department to attend Revit course. Task individuals, once the course has been completed, to take one current & one previous project to be updated to Revit.
Current status of CAD manuals. UAE suggestion for draft manuals CAD layering Convention AM02. Drawing Control AP05 Structural CAD manual AM04. David Jeens to be issued with all current documents to formalize & issue.
