Information To support CEAF: Cummins Intebrake for L9 used on D563004CX03 Affected Options: BR Option; EB Option; PH Option; RL Option; VC Option; WR Options

Project Scope Background: Introduction of Cummins Intebrake for the L9 engine platform – (This CEAF is for the engine brake version of the L9 only. The non- brake version is not being effected by this CEAF.) Implementation Date: May 2018

Introduction/ Background What is changing? Compression relief brake for L9 Rocker lever housing height (valve cover mounting surface) Rocker lever housing pass through connectors Valve cover height (uses short valve cover) Space claim for overall engine height (reduction of engine height) Main engine wiring harness connections to rocker lever housing pass through connectors (reduction in wiring harness connections) OEM interface point with main engine wiring harness remains the same Why are we making this change? WR Options (One example) Areas of change in main engine harness with Cummins Intebrake Only changes to the main engine harness are to areas connecting to the pass through harnesses in the rocker lever housing All other main engine harness connections and routing are the same as existing current product

Cummins Intebrake (cold side view) What is changing? Valve cover/oil fill cap height reduction (approx. 54 mm) Breather height reduction (uses same lower mounted option as non-brake engine) Injector pass through connectors in rocker housing reducing to qty (2) eight pin connectors Cummins Confidential

RL9840/RL9843 Same machined rocker lever housing is used in each option Only difference between these two options is the engine brake solenoid 12 volt / 24 volt

Current Product Housing and Cummins Intebrake Housing Overlaid Qty (3) Hotside boss sizes and height are same as current product – Only difference for Cummins Intebrake housing is these (3) bosses are 5mm lower than the housing top machined surface where valve cover mounts and the holes are drilled through and threaded through rather than being blind holes that are in the current product housing

Current Product Housing and Cummins Intebrake Housing Overlaid Boss height on rear of housing has been moved up 5mm to remain flush with the top machined surface where valve cover mounts – M6 threaded hole has been moved 2mm outward and made a through hole rather than a blind hole
