Children were going to empty homes after school THE PROBLEM No After School Program for Pierce City Children Providing a program with structure, activity and healthy food was the number one priority Children were going to empty homes after school

There are no volunteers for a program. THE VILLIAN There are no volunteers for a program. The school administration had not made an effort to reach out to a community partner to house the program. Transportation and liability were of concerns for administration POW!

THE HERO FBC The First Baptist Church wanted to start an after school program for children in the community. I’m the hero? Having a place for children to go after school is very important in a small, rural town.

THE BATTLE Establishing the program through the school system required PC Admin approval, legal, and liability insurance. The main battle was establishing transportation from the School to FBC with the school transportation provider. Volunteers were provided by the Church, and they claimed liability. All for the children WHAM!

After School program are fun! THE VICTORY The program has been a huge victory for all parties. Every Wednesday children are transported to the FBC from PC Schools YEAH! After School program are fun!
