Healing and medicine In the time of Jesus

In the world of the time if you were wealthy and had good health then people believed it was because you had followed the rules and did the right thing.

If people were poor, or were blind or sick, then people believed this was because they had sinned. If they were born blind or with a sickness then people thought this had happened because their parents had sinned.

If a person was sick in the time of Jesus they were often taken to the priests for healing. People also believed that you could be made well again by touch and not just medicine.
