Project 7: Modeling Social Network Structures and their Dynamic Evolutions with User- Generated Data from IoT REU Student: Emma Ambrosini Graduate mentors: Marzieh Edraki Faculty Mentor(s): Dr. Guo-Jun Qi Week 1 (May 23 – May 27, 2016) Accomplishments: Read 2 research papers & 3 sets of presentation notes related to machine learning (supervised/unsupervised neural networks, adversarial nets, generative & degenerative models) Looking into basic functions and usage of Tensorflow Issues/problems encountered and solutions (if any): Granting access to wireless network is in-progress Plans for next week: Continue with reading and summarizing research papers in the area of machine learning, reviewing previous papers and resources Brush up on Python Meet with Graduate Mentor again, discuss articles & project Look further into faculty mentor’s specific research that I will be working with Get more familiar with Tensorflow NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2017
