Britton’s and Wilson’s BREAKING NEWSletter April 24th– 28th Announcements Field Trip Money and Permission Slips are due by May 3, 2017. MAP Math test is next Thursday, April 27th. MAP Writing test is Monday, May 1st. Join Remind by texting @rm8squad to 81010. This is how we send out reminders/announcements. ELA: We will wrap up Unit 8, Determining Important Ideas. We will begin revising and editing our opinion essays. We will do an opinion writing prompt to practice for the MAP writing test. Vocabulary: Ease: move slowly and carefully Clench: hold or squeeze something tightly Display: show something or put something where people can easily see it Caretaker: a person whose job is to take care of a property (building or land) for the owner Aroma: pleasant smell Slump: fall or sit down suddenly and heavily Math: Our math skill this week will continue to be 2 step word problems using all 4 operations. We are also reviewing skills for our MAP Math test which is Thursday at 8 a.m. I can statements: I can tell time to the last minute and calculate intervals of time. I can visualize from a passage. I can ask and answer questions about a passage. I can reread for information. I can recognize a pronoun. Test Dates: Math - 3rd Fact Fluency for 4th 9 weeks is Friday, April 28th. Please encourage your child to practice skills on mobymax.com as much as possible! Math Homework – Mon. – Worksheet #1 to review for Multiplication and Division word problem test tomorrow. Tues. – Worksheet to review for Math MAP test which is Thursday. Wed. – The MAP Math test is tomorrow. Get a good night’s rest and eat breakfast. The test starts at 8. Please be on time. Thurs. – 3rd Fact Fluency test is tomorrow. Practice your facts. ELA Assessments: Opinion Performance Assessment (Writing Prompt): Friday, April 28th Week 27/29 Vocabulary Quiz: Friday, April 28th Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes. ELA Homework – Homework packet is due Thursday.
