A QUICK APPROACH to Writing an Unbound Report with Mrs. Leslie and Ms. Thornton

What is an Unbound Report A report is an organized paper that involves research on a topic An unbound report is short and does not have a binder and is usually bound together with a paperclip or staple

Getting Started I must: Select a topic Research my Topic-Online encyclopedia, magazines, websites, other Develop a Thesis-A sentence that will define your paper Make an Outline-Make an outline of how your paper will flow-Intro, Body and Conclusion-You should have four paragraphs

Beware of Plagiarism Do not buy, borrow or steal someone else’s work You must give credit, where credit is due

How Plagiarism occurs Copying and pasting from a website Using your brother’s old report for your own paper Changing a few words in a document and calling it your own

How to avoid Plagiarism? Read your research and decide how you would tell the information in your OWN WORDS Do not go to a website and copy the information and then paste it into your report
