Just another ten minutes…… Do you take a long time to get ready for things? Just another ten minutes……

Getting ready for Easter takes a very long time – 40 days Getting ready for Easter takes a very long time – 40 days. These are called the forty days of Lent. Jesus also took forty days to get ready for his special ministry. He spent that time in the desert (wilderness) alone.

Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday mark the beginning of Lent How shall we remember Lent and prepare for Easter?

This week’s Lent Challenge Bishop Stephen is challenging us to do something special each week for Lent. This will help us get ready properly for Easter. Easter is the most special day of the whole year for Christians as it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

This Lent our challenge is called “The 5Ts” We are going to start with T for “Tell”. How are we going to tell everyone about Lent and Easter?

God our Father, Help us to follow Jesus’ example through all the days of Lent as we hear his story and listen to his message. Be with us as we take up Bishop Stephen’s Lent challenge, and, as we do so,help us to think about all the people who support us and our school and community. Amen
