St Edward The Way of the Day

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The Sign of the Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

A reading from the Gospel of St Matthew Jesus said, ‘Happy are you when people abuse you and persecute you…on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven’ Matthew 5:12 From the Mass of St Edward

On Friday of this week, the church remembers St Edward the Confessor, one of the last Anglo-Saxon kings of England. Let’s hear more about this saint…

you raised Saint Edward, king and confessor, We pray together: Lord Jesus, you raised Saint Edward, king and confessor, to excel in good government and faithful service. May these ideals survive and flourish among us through his prayers. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The Sign of the Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
