Communities: *Teach us to live and work together. Communicate-share information with others. Communities makes it easy to communicate. Ways to communicate: Phone, conversation, radio, telegraph, T.V, newspaper

Entertainment: Recreational sports is an example. Services: Fire Police School Water/sewer

Communities: Rural-countryside A. Small town- less than 2500 B. Suburb- town, village, community on outskirts of city. Urban- city * More than 2500 Three types of urban areas.

3 types of Urban areas: Metropolis-city and surrounding towns and suburbs seem to be connected no line to divide them. Metropolitan-big city and its surrounding towns and suburbs. 3. Megalopolis- giant urban area.

COUNTY Tax: administration, police construction, maintenance, roads/bridges, public health, parks, libraries, education Board of Commissioners-appt. county manager.

CITY: Municipality-city with its own government. Tax-police, license for business, streets, traffic control, water, sewer, etc….

3 types of City government: Council-Mayor -elect mayor and elect council. 2. Council-Manager-elect council and they select city manager. 3.Commissioner-elect commissioners each as department heads.
