Presentation transcript:

A Slowly-Responding Variant for Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP) Congestion Control ID 2. draft-floyd-dccp-ccid2slow-00b.txt S. Floyd, March 2007, DCCP Working Group Draft: http://www.icir.org/floyd/papers.html Slides: http://www.icir.org/floyd/talks.html

What is it about? “Unlike standard CCID 2, the Slowly-Responding variant of CCID 2 uses an Additive Increase of 1/5 MSS for each round-trip time without a loss event, and a Multiplicative Decrease to 7/8-ths of the congestion window in response a loss or ECN-marking event [FMP00].” The Slowly-Responding variant of CCID 2 should be used by senders who don't need the fast response times of CCID 2, but would prefer the window-based, AIMD-based congestion control mechanisms of CCID 2 to the rate-based congestion control mechanisms of CCID 3 [RFC4342].”

If anyone is interested in helping with this, or has feedback, let me (Sally) know.
