What is a community?

Citizen A member of a community or country.

Pollution Anything, such as a harmful chemical, that spoils land, water, or air.

Volunteer Someone who does a job by choice, without pay.

Urban A community that includes the city and its surrounding areas.

Suburb A community located near a city.

Rural A community of farms or open country where distances are far between one place and another.

Transportation The moving of people or goods from one place to another.

Geography Skills Scale A ruler on a map that measures distance.

Culture The way of life of a group of people including that group’s language, music, foods, holidays, and beliefs.

National Park Land set aside by a government for all people to enjoy.
