Specific information for students going to Post Secondary School College/University Some programs are first come, first served. Some specific requirements depend on school and program. Education planner BC is a fantastic website to determine what you need to get into any program in BC. University Most schools have approved high school courses required for entrance. Check their websites. Admission can be based on grades in grade 11 and/or 12 required for entry. There are people on every campus who are hired to talk to prospective students. They are the experts, not us.

Graduation transitions course Taught by Mrs. Urdahl-Serr/Mr. Levesque/Mr. Liversidge Is a requirement for graduation. It is a course designed to ensure our grade 12 students have the confidence, skills and knowledge to transition from high school into a variety of different settings (post secondary, work force)   1.Students will be required to complete a combination of assignments and interviews throughout the year. Focus will be on: post secondary opportunities/options work experience/volunteer hours completed budgeting lifestyle choices/options bursary/scholarship opportunities 2.Students will complete assignments found on the grad 2019 toptab on the GSS website – some assignments may include: resume and cover letters reference letter from staff and/or volunteer or work supervisor work experience/volunteer log completed (30 hrs) a working budget for after high school

Grad Transitions (continued) 3. At the end of the year, students will sign-up for an exit interview and give a presentation on an experience or project/skill that they are proud of from their time at Garibaldi. 4. First assignment will be sent through the remind app and will be posted on the Grad 2019 top tab under students. If Grad Transitions is up to date the block can be used as a study block. You are not allowed to wander the hallways – you should be in the Library working quietly or in the Café working. You can also use the flex blocks to get help on homework – this is not a time to leave the building. You are required to be with one of your classroom teachers.
