Presentation transcript:

100-146 GHz reflectometer to be operated in X-mode 6 locations: top, middle and bottom of LH launcher (C port, 2009) and top, middle, and bottom of ICRF antenna (J port, 2010) 100-146 GHz reflectometer to be operated in X-mode Yields density range of 1016 to 1020 m-3 at 5.0 – 5.4 T Yields density range of 1019 to 2x1020 m-3 at 3T

At 5.4 T, density range is in the scrape-off layer. Will density fluctuations such as blobs distort our results and if so, how bad? Comparison is needed with edge density diagnostics, such as LH langmuir probes, A-port scanning probe, edge Thomson scattering. Ohmic runs would be preferred, so as to make probe measurements more trustworthy. ICRF and LH runs can be done later to see if there are RF differences in density profile measurements At 3 T, density range is in the pedestal/core Comparison with edge and core Thomson scattering Can be done in ohmic, ICRF, or LH shots. This diagnostics comparison might be necessary for high RF power shots. Current scan is needed to test out noise from O-mode reflection Piggyback
