I Graduated from the University Of Houston December 2015 This is my first year teaching and coaching. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Class Materials 30% 70% Check grades any time on the parent portal 1 composition notebook ____ Daily Pencils & erasers ________ 1” binder, 5 subject dividers, loose paper ________ Major Highlighters & Binder pouch

homework food and drink policy assignment formatting policy for absences & grades In general, drinks are allowed in my class. This is contingent on it not becoming a distraction in class, and as long as students can handle the responsibility. This policy is subject to change at my discretion, and at any time. Weekly and daily work will be updated weekly (bell ringers, participation, and quizzes). Please check grades regularly and feel free to ask me any questions that you might have about a particular grade. If you are absent, you are responsible for completing your make-up work (one day for make-up for each day absent). All make-up work will be placed in a Ketchup folder. Ketchup folders can be found in the red create, look for the day you were absent.. It is your responsibility to ask a classmate or me for help on making up any interactive notebook assignments (you can always borrow my notebook), and/or to meet with Mrs. Marshall to make up any tests, or quizzes. If you know you are going to be absent beforehand, you should ask me for your make-up work before the absence. This can be done before or after school or via e-mail. assignment formatting All assignments must be in pencil. Your name should be written in the upper left section of the page followed by your class period and the date. All papers should have appropriate heading (ex. Test 1 Questions 1-5) Mrs. Marshall 3rd Period August 22, 2016 homework electronic devices Students should expect to spend 20-30 minutes on homework every week. Homework assignments will be given every Monday in class and will be due every Friday At the beginning of class. Most work will be able to be completed in class if students use their time wisely. If students do not complete work during class, in the time allotted, it will be assigned as homework so students can adhere to the determined deadlines. Electronic devices should be kept in students backpacks. Devices should not be out during class, unless otherwise instructed by the teacher or with permission. First offense: Student will turn the phone into the teacher until the end of class. Second offense: Student will turn the phone into the teacher until the end of day. Third offense: Phone will be turned into office and parents will have to pick up the device from the office.

Student Exceptions I pledge to you. . . Interactive Notebooks/ Class DOJO . . . Lets discuss, what do you want from a teacher? Students will be awarded DOJO points for their various achievements within class, the reverse of this is also true; mischief or wrong doing will result in a loss of points. Students will participate in a classroom economy fueled by DOJO points; every 10 DOJO points is worth $1(only redeemable at Mrs. Marshall’s DOJO Store during approved shopping times. Ex. 12 DOJO points = $1.20 Shopping times will be noted in your weekly binder schedule. All transactions will be will be recorded in the students check register. Students are responsible for their own register, if lost it will cost $10.00 DOJO to replace. _______________________________ Interactive Notebooks/ Math Binders Students are responsible for their interactive notebooks and Math binders. I recommend keeping your interactive notebook in the pocket of your binder. No in-class storage will be provided. If you cannot keep up with your class materials please ask Mrs. McClendon for a locker (hopefully near my room); you will need your math binders and interactive notebooks everyday. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________ __________________________________ Student Exceptions Bathroom/Hall Passes & Tardy Policy We will all come to class prepared We will be polite and respectful We will all participate We will be positive and give our best effort Students will receive 6 bathroom passes per semester (2 per six weeks). It is the students responsibility to keep up with these passes. Mrs. Marshall’s class is just like the NFL! Both feet must be in the room by the end of the bell (without running in the hallway). Or else you're tardy!

Student/Parent Contract I have read Mrs. Marshall’s syllabus and understand what is expected of me/my student. X:____________________________ Date:_____________ Student X:___________________________ Date:_____________ Parent/Guardian
