The Big Chill (Hoping for a Snow Day) By Sally K. Albrecht and Jay Althouse

The Big Chill The big chill…. The big chill!

Well, there’s nothing outside but snow and ice And the weatherman’s looking for some advice. The temp’rature’s going very low, And the wintery winds have started to blow. Started to blow! X X

The big chill…. The big chill!

Well there’s nothing outside but ice and snow, And the principal’s going to let us go. With icicles hanging on the trees, We are certainly in a really big freeze! Really big freeze. X X

I’ve been waiting since September, Even tho’ I must remember, We’ll make it up in June.

Look out the window. Clouds in the sky Look out the window. Clouds in the sky. Maybe tomorrow The snow will be high.

This will not just be a flurry, For the wind is starting to blow This will not just be a flurry, For the wind is starting to blow. This will be a great big blizzard, Full of snow, snow, snow, snow, snow.

I’ve been waiting since September, Even tho’ I must remember, We’ll make it up in June.

A snow day. Just one snow day. Snow day. One fine day.

Let it snow, Let it snow, let it snow To day……………………………………………… Let it snow, Let it snow, let it snow To day………………………………………………! Let’s have a snow day. I want a snow day. So let it snow today!

A Day at Home What would I give for a quiet day at home? What would I give for a day I could call my own? A day of simple solitude and rest, Without students, or noise, or a test.

What would I give for a day of my very own. A day all alone at home?

What would I give for a day away from school What would I give for a day away from school? What would I give for a day without any rules? A day of catching soaps on the T. V. Watching movies, a day just for me.

What would I give for a day of my very own, A day all alone, a day of my own, A day of my very own at home. There’s no place like home.

We’re on the Same Track We’re not so diff’rent you and me. Maybe even sometimes we agree.

We’ll see eye to eye eventually. We’re on the same track! x x

We won’t be breakin’ any rule. Just a little time off from the school.

We think that a snow day would really be cool. We’re on the same track We think that a snow day would really be cool. We’re on the same track! x x

Look at you and me. Maybe we agree.

Yes, eventually. We’re on the same track! x x

Won’t break any rule. Time off from the school.

That would really be cool. We’re on the same track! x x

Seven Feet of Snow! Sitting there, looking out the window, Dark clouds are gath’ring overhead. Hoping school will let out early; That’s what the weatherman said.

We’re waiting for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven feet of snow We’re waiting for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven feet of snow. We’re hoping for one, two, three, four,

We’re praying for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven feet of snow.

‘Cause when it snows, we’re all aglow, can’t wait to go outside and throw a bunch of snow.

What’s that I see outside the window. Window What’s that I see outside the window? Window? Big snowy flakes, frosty white. Frosty white.

Don’t think we’ll have school tomorrow. Tomorrow Don’t think we’ll have school tomorrow. Tomorrow. It’s supposed to snow all night!

We’re waiting for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven feet of snow We’re waiting for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven feet of snow. We’re hoping for one, two, three, four,

We’re praying for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven feet of snow.

‘Cause when it snows, we always know we’ll need a tow out of the snow (a lot of dough!).

When it blows it’s quite a show, yes, even though it’s ten below.

We’re aglow, can’t wait to go outside and throw a bunch of snow We’re aglow, can’t wait to go outside and throw a bunch of snow. Seven feet of snow, Yo!
