What is pollution ? Presence of matter (gas, liquid, solid) or energy (heat, noise, radiation) whose nature, location, or quantity directly or indirectly alters characteristics or processes of any part of the environment, and causes (or has the potential to cause) damage to the condition, health, safety, or welfare of animals, humans, plants, or property

Types of pollution Soil contamination Water pollution Air pollution Land pollution

Pollution activities Smoking Burning fossil fuels Factories littering

Affect of pollution on the environment Reduced lung functioning Irritation of eyes, nose, mouth and throat Asthma attacks Respiratory symptoms such as coughing and wheezing Increased respiratory disease such as bronchitis Reduced energy levels Headaches and dizziness Disruption of endocrine, reproductive and immune systems Neurobehavioral disorders Cardiovascular problems Cancer

Solution The solution is all in out hands There should be more strict laws for and more strict consequences Stop littering Recycling Warning each other Stop smoking Reduce the use of factories

To conclude Pollution is a very serious subject, which many people don’t exactly know what the consequences are. It affects our environment and causes diseases and harm to it. Everything is in our hands but not many humans are motivated to make a change. People should start caring for their environment and realize that our world might be coming to an end because of their activities.
