Pencil holder

Designs (narrowed down to 4)

Final design

Safety (risk assessment) Before I had to build my pencil I needed to complete 3 on guard tests for safety

Steps First we needed to learn about the safety by taking the on Guard test Then investigate and find 7 designs Choose best four Choose one out of four Sketch your best design on a 190x190mm piece of paper Put your paper on the 190mm x 190mm piece of pine and go over it with pen HARD but not too hard

Then you should have your sketch marks go over it with pen so you can see the sketch better Then you get a coping saw and cut out the shape but don’t cut too close to the lines After get a file and the circular file to smoothen the edges If you want get sanding paper to make it smooth as well (optional)

then mark it with pyrograph Put your pencil holes in with pedestal drill Then you paint your wood work Tip: add water to your paint so it can be light After when your done let it dry and work on your presentation

Tools The tools you need are: 190 x 190 pine wood Coping saw File Circular file Pyrograph Pedestal drill paint

Self evaluation Activities 1 2 3 4 5 Investigation Your safety Work practise Quality of Finished work Meets original design Effective use of time

Evaluation 2 Q1.During this project I learnt how to use a coping saw and how to saw it properly. I also so learnt how to use a file properly and also the circular file. Q2.In this project I liked how we get to pick wany animation so we can make a pencil holder based on that. I also liked how we get to use the pedestal instead of looking at it then asking what it is.So to some it all up everything was great!!!

Q3. Everything about this project was good Q3.Everything about this project was good.Espeacially the trust between the trust between the teachers and the students ,but if there were no trust we would be doing theory. So in other words nothing was bad about this project. Q4.If I had a chance to improve my project I would try to do better in my painting. Next time a need to add water to my paint so it can be lighter, but other than that there's nothing I would improve.

Finished piece!!

Thankyou very much!!
