All Creatures Great and Small. (UK animals) Reception Spring 2- Homework All Creatures Great and Small. (UK animals) Literacy Maths Reading and Writing Number Read every night to a grown up. Record in the reading diary. Share a story or your child’s reading book and talk about the story. Practise writing the phonic sounds using cursive handwriting. Learn and practise writing your tricky words and sounds from your phonic lessons. Read and answer the questions on bug club. Write a diary about what you do at the weekends. Count objects from 0 to 20. Order the numbers 0 to 20. Write numbers 0 to 20. Practise adding objects together to 20. E.g.- the knives and forks, books and toys, boys and girls in your house. Practise knowing 1 more and 1 less from any number to 20. Measure Talk about how much liquid is in containers- eg- full cup, half full, empty. Measure the length of different rooms in your house using the number of steps. Compare objects in the home and say which is heavier and which is lighter. Expectations Literacy and maths work needs to be practised each week. Then choose at least 2 other activities to complete and return to school. Present the work how you want. E.g. Pictures, written, photos, recordings. To be returned by- 26th March. Creative Make a bird house or an insect home. Create a 3D model of an animal or insect. Invent a new animal, you can draw, collage or make it. Topic Make an information poster about all the different insects and animals you see in your garden or around your home. Make a booklet about your favourite animal.
