House of Valor Blessing of "The House of Valor" Friday, August 31, 4 p.m.10 Nicholson St. This worthy project is just a few blocks behind Gatlin Lumber on Beal Parkway in Ft Walton Beach. The concept is that Veterans with no home will find structure and an address necessary for employment. The Gregg Chapel AME Church sponsored 3rd Chance Organizations facility is centrally located near potential employers like me. I gladly salute this vision supporting our Veterans in their future success. I hope you will spread the word about this Ceremony.  Tom Rice

Other Events Northwest Florida Legal Services will be holding “Justice on the Block” event on 17 August 2018 from 4-7 pm. Services are provided based on income of the client and will be served on a first-come, first serve basis On 21 August 2018, Florida Housing Commission will be at CareerSource Okaloosa Walton from 1-5 pm for training and technical assistance. The next meeting IVOW will be on 13 September 2018 at 1 pm at the Goodwill Building, 913-H Beal Avenue, Fort Walton Beach.

Initiative for Veterans of Okaloosa and Walton Counties IVOW Mission Statement for Initiative for Veterans of Okaloosa and Walton Counties (I VOW) The Okaloosa Walton Homeless and Housing Alliance created an Initiative for Veterans of Okaloosa and Walton Counties (I VOW) due to the on-going need for stable housing of our local Veteran population. I VOW is an action group which brings together the collaborative abilities of many of the local area’s Veteran resource service agencies to assist Veterans experiencing homelessness. By directly identifying, engaging and providing constant visibility and follow-up, the I VOW group will work toward providing much needed housing for our Veterans. We believe that by sharing resources and increasing communication among the diverse Veteran assistance agencies, success for our Veterans can be achieved in a more efficient and timely manner. Regaining and maintaining housing stability for our Veterans is paramount. The next meeting IVOW will be on 13 September 2018 at 1 pm at the Goodwill Building, 913-H Beal Avenue, Fort Walton Beach.

Career Skills Program (CSP) If Interested in the CSP - Internship, please complete our Intake Form. The following steps must be completed in order for participant to start an internship opportunity: Determine Eligibility by contacting your Education Center and obtaining information on the CSP- Internship and a copy of the Vetting Checklist. ​Explore Internship Opportunities by completing the CareerSource Okaloosa Walton Intake Form. Secure Approval from your commander once Vetting Checklist has been completed and signed by provider. Begin Training ​ ​For questions concerning the CSP - Internship Process, please contact your Education Center.
