Summary Describe what your product is, what problem or customer need it addresses, and any other basic information about the product.

Mission Statement What is your company’s mission statement? Explains in simple terms your purpose for being. The mission statement helps owners and employees to remain focused on the tasks at hand. You may look at some examples on the internet, but use your own words.

Ownership What is your company’s form of ownership (sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, etc.) Why did you select this form of ownership?

The Team Describe the organization and the key management team members. List people like the Manager (probably you), and other key positions by name (names can be made up) Include previous accomplishments to show that these are people with a record of success and will help you to succeed. Include their number of years of experience in this field.

Competition Who is your competition? Name one or two competitors by name (should be real companies/products) Explain how your products and services are competitive/unique. Why do you think there is a demand for your particular product/service over your competition?

Marketing Plan Who is your target market? (If you say ‘everyone’, I will fail you for this ENTIRE PROJECT!) How will you price your products? Will they be on the high side, low side or somewhere in between? Are you using cost-based pricing or value-based pricing? Why?

Marketing Plan, Continued What advertising medium(s) will you use? Why? What promotions (coupons, incentives, etc.) will you use? Why are those the ideal way to promote your product? If you are not using promotions, explain why not.

PowerPoint Tips Simple background – clean design. Keep text readable – dark text on light background, or light text on dark background. No more than 6 points per slide. No more than 6 to 8 words per line. Proofread – check spelling.
