This is the most picturesque trek of Himachal region. It passes through lush green field and dense Deodar forest of Bharmor ( Chamba)
On the other side of the pass the landscape changes dramatically The Lahaul valley is dry and cold. The best trekking season is mid-May to mid-September.
Our 7 enthusiastic trekkers are setting off for the venture on 21st May 2004. Actual duration of the trek will be from 27th May to 9th June i.e. 14 days.
During the period they will experience beauty and grandeur of dense forest, tranquil lakes, majestic mountains and finally dry,arid and colourful landscape of Lahaul valley.
Members will travel Mumbai to Chakki Bank (near Pathankot) by train.
Then they will proceed by vehicle to Bharmor via Dalhousie, Chamba, Khajiyar. Hadsar will be the last road head where the trekkers will proceed from Bharmor.
Hadsar to ManiMahesh Lake will take 2 days. 2 days will be required to come back to Hadsar.
It will be another 6 days from Hadsar to Shansha via Kugti Pass (5040 Metres) ,highest point of the trek.
From Shansha there will be again a bus journey upto Batal via Keylang on Manali Leh road.
From Batal to Chandra tal trek will take one day. From Shansha there will be again a bus journey upto Batal via Keylang on Manali Leh road. From Batal to Chandra tal trek will take one day.
The team will reach Mumbai on 12th June via Delhi. From Chandra Tal members will trek back to Batal and travel upto Manali via Rohtang Pass. The team will reach Mumbai on 12th June via Delhi.
