Making the most of My Jobs Online A quick guide… 29 November 2018
What can you do? My Jobs Online Browse part-time jobs, look for placement opportunities, find graduate training schemes; Set up daily or weekly job alerts by email, selecting only the work areas you are interested in; Sign up for Careers events such as interview skills and psychometric tests through our Headstart programme; Ask a question – not got time to come into the Careers Centre? Then ask your question through My Jobs Online! Did you know, the Careers Centre placed over 3500 job advertisements last year?
Dashboard – quick overview Set up your preferences for job alerts and other notifications here Make bookings for events, check notes from meetings with careers advisers Search for jobs and placements Ask us a question! Search companies and organisations
Set up your profile Do you want to receive emails from the Careers Centre about items which we think could be relevant to you? Leave as ‘Yes’ if you do. Pick the topics you’d like to receive updates about Do you want to receive emails about upcoming careers events? Job notifications – daily or weekly; you can select areas of interest on the next screen
Choose your type of job If you’ve chosen to receive job alert emails, now’s the time to choose the type of work and the areas of most interest to you.
Want more Jobs? TARGETJobs provides careers content, advice and job opportunities on a national and global level. If you are interested in signing up for their service, choose your sectors of interest and tick the relevant boxes. Read the Ts and Cs for more information about this service.
Bookings – appointments and events …or as a list See events in a calendar view…. See which careers advisers are available for Quick Queries (up to 24 hours before, book at Careers Centre reception). See what events you’ve signed up for, read notes from meetings with your careers adviser
Opportunities Business areas, for example Expand the Filters to select your preferred types of jobs and business areas The number of current jobs in each category is shown in brackets
