Building with Wood – 21 November 2017 Science Work organisation Work situation and working hours Working environment Work requirement and qualification Workplace and tools Lighting State of the art Ergonomics Breaks Noise Atmosphere Position in the hierarchy Work location Chemicals/ Dust Workplace Occupatioinal Safety and Health Many aspects and areas define a specific work situation New type of materials and their qualities have potentially an influence on specific hazards at the workplaces The red marked are in our focus but not exclusively New combinations of materials Industrial and organisational psychology Work sciences Building with Wood – 21 November 2017

Building with Wood – 21 November 2017 Which aspects of the working conditions are touched ? Ergonomics: new materials / prefabricated building materials / new tools / the work process itself Chemicals: dust / chemicals / surface treatment Holistic view: we need a precautionary approach - gathering people from science, design, manufacturing, building sector New combinations means that the requirement is to adopt konwledge from other sectors or professions. We consider that as a “Mdium degree of Change”. Holistic also means aspects like the interrelation with other professions/sectorial acitvities or the legal background. But also the combination with other policies in europe – demographic change. Building with Wood – 21 November 2017

Building with Wood – 21 November 2017 Work organisation The actual work organisation is decided on company level Partly decided by the social partners Highly relevant: the cooperation between professions and companies Design of technology Work organisation is of course also depending on existing professions – qualification of the workforce – traditions – technology and materail/tools But also the combination with other policies in Europe – demographic change. Building with Wood – 21 November 2017
