The gospel is a scandal. “Scandal” comes from the Greek word skandalon. It’s an image that refers to something that makes you fall down as you are walking.

The Boldness of Elijah. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours.

Elijah dared to believe God. 1 As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.” (1 Kings 17:1, NIV)

The Secret of Elijah’s Strength. His prayer life. His knowledge of God’s presence.

5 “I will never leave you, I will never forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Elijah was the man he was because he was a man of faith.
