Power supply needs and main characteristics To optimize costs and spare part stocks: 1 type of power supply for the sextupoles, the quadrupoles and the correctors 1 type of power supply for the TL Inj Dipole PS + DL Inj Dipole PS Allocation in 6 cabinets 600(W)* 800(D)* 2000(H) Cabinets for the dipole power supplies: Ring Dipole PS : 1 cabinet 800(W)* 1000(D)* 2000(H) TL-EL Dipoles PS : 1 cabinet 800(W)* 1000(D)* 2000(H) 1 Cabinet for the focalisation solenoid power supplies of the RF gun: Focalisation & contre champ PS : 1 cabinet 800(W)* 1000(D)* 2000(H) And notably the CPCI crate (dedicated to PS remote control)

Power supply needs and main characteristics NB : One extra cabinet (600(W)* 800(D)* 2000(H)) for the magnet interlock system and the additional quadrupole & corrector power supplies for the EL and the Linac (which have been purchased after the initial call for tenders).

Control system Hardware architecture: All the power supplies will be interfaced to a Compact PCI crate (hosting Profibus & CPU cards) via a Profibus DP fieldbus (idem SOLEIL) Software bus: TANGO Corba based control system developped by ESRF/SOLEIL Mature and well-tested Code developped at SOLEIL may be re-used for THOM-X

Activity report of 2016 Tests of the 78 power supplies (Quadrupoles, Sextupoles, and Correctors) from « lot 2 » in order to check the specifications, mainly in terms of stability and resolution Stability : Requested : ±20ppm = 480µA Stability : 200µA ∼ 17ppm
