Today’s Presentation Brief overview of Career Technical Transfer Initiatives Updates: 2018 focus Changes: full review v. affirmation (course matrix) Getting the most out of CTE programing: Aligning secondary courses for college credit Ensuring students get credit Resources

Ohio: Movement in Career Technical Initiative Development 2005 2011-2013 Future 2005 Legislation 2007 Implementation of 17 Career CTAGs: Low hanging Fruit: Industry Standard Credential Programs: Courses Reviews Begin – Creation of Faculty Panel: Individual Evaluation OTC’s not recognized as Post-Secondary Institutions SCTAI: Heavy Research and Development Stages Courses: Course Ability to Examine, Align, and Measure Curriculum with Faculty Involvement (Upfront Lift) Opportunities to Reduce the Burden on Faculty Panels (Partial Back End Relief) Expanding Option for Pathways to Post- Secondary Education SCTAI: Heavy Implementation Stage on All Sides End of Course refinement allows for more certificate of affirmation submission Need for strategies: That expose synergies in CTE-26 and CTAG CEMS application processes Provide greater student access Allow for initiative assessment of success Joint Professional Development Increase college pathways and submissions 2011 2016

CTAG Guidance Document https://www.ohiohighered.org/sites/ohiohighered.org/files/uploads/transfer/CT2/v2.1All%20CTAGs.pdf The CTAG Guidance document aligns the ODE course and EMIS Code with the CTAG/CTAN, identifies the type of review, and lists the requirements for students to be eligible to access college credit.

Getting the Most Out of Articulation Use the course matrix to guide course delivery options Talk early and often about college pathway, options, and CTAGs Send verification forms, individually, with seal, to appointed representative, with accurate information. Look for additional guidance in Spring Semester. Be mindful that individual test score (WebXam ®) reports must say “pass” when attached to affirmation forms.
