CO.OP.ER.A.TION /kōˌäpəˈrāSH(ə)n/

Cooperation defined: noun the process of working together to the same end. "they worked in close cooperation with one another" synonyms: collaboration, joint action, combined effort, teamwork, partnership, coordination, liaison, association, synergy, synergism, give and take, compromise

Why is cooperation important? Cooperation is important in all aspects of life It is required in society (abiding by laws) It is required in the workplace It is required in schools It is required in Families It is required within teams It is everywhere

Cooperation Examples At work: a server takes the order and a cook makes the meal At school: splitting up tasks for a group project At home: helping with dishes after dinner On a team: running a play In the community: drivers taking their Turn at a 4-way stop

EXAMPLES Why Geese Fly in a V: Have you ever wondered why geese heading south for the winter fly in a "V" formation? It has been learned that as each bird flaps its wings, it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own. People who share common direction and sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier, because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.  https://youtu.be/ByBbUK4jJMg

Activity: the human knot All participants have to put their hands in the center of the circle and close their eyes. Next, they have to connect their hands with another pair of hands. Once everyone is holding another pair of hands, ask them to open their eyes. They now have to get themselves out of this human knot and make a circle again, without letting go of the other’s hand.
