Made for individuals ages 15-80 years Category Test: Computer Version Research Edition (CAT-CV™) Nick A. DeFilippis, PhD, and PAR Staff Overview The CAT-CV allows you to administer and score the Category Test using software. Allows the examiner to select and administer on-screen any one of the three versions of the test; the standard 208-item version, 120-item version, or 108-item version. All three versions accurately reproduce the stimuli from the original Category Test. The edition of the program is intended for research purposes. For individuals ages 15-19 years, only raw scores are reported. T scores and percentiles are calculated for individuals ages 20-80 years. Administration Appropriate for ages 15-80. Before beginning the installation of the program, check to be sure that you have each of the following requirements: An IBM personal computer or compatible with 640K RAM. A color monitor and EGA or VGA adaptor. Two drives (one may be a hard disk). DOS 2.1 or greater. Printer. Disk labeled “Category Test: Computer Version.” One formatted, blank disk (for systems with two floppy disk drives). The program license is printed on the disk envelope. Scoring and Reporting The CT: CV lets you define some of the test administration options so that the program performs according to your individual. Produces a report for the standard 208-item version that includes total errors for subtests and total test. Demographically corrected normative data for total errors; elapsed time for subtests and total test; average response latency for subtests, total test, and incorrect or correct responses, and Bolter Validity Index. Produces a report for the 120-item version and the 108-item version that includes total errors for subtests and total test; and average response latency for subtest, total test, and correct or incorrect responses. You may elect to print the report to your screen for quick review, print to your printer, or create a word processing file. Administration The CAT-CV was developed to assist the clinical neuropsychologist in administering and scoring of the CT. Made for individuals ages 15-80 years

Reliability, Validity, and Norms Research has found the Category Test to be useful in discriminating brain-damaged patients from pseudo-neurologic patients. The computerized version of the Category Test was developed to assist the clinical neuropsychologist in administering and scoring the CT. It allows for the rapid accumulation of a number of different test indicators which are not normally scored, but which may facilitate research into the CT and assist in developing new and meaningful scoring methods
