Improvements on flood defense asset management CGM meeting #4, 7 March

Rationale for AO-to-AO learning Accelerated learning / improvement is possible, when AOs learn from experience of other countries, which face similar problems and challenges. All countries have a part of the puzzle given their maturity at different levels.

Denmark (DK) Germany (DE) Netherlands (NL) Sweden (SE) DK DE NL SE AM decisions Strategic perspective External coordination DE Outsourcing activities Failure trees Information management NL External coordination around M&M Monitor & maintain SE Culture and leadership System analysis (SPR) System Analysis Internal coordination

Ideas out of TM Hamburg Denmark - Sweden Germany - Sweden DK from SE: how to improve their approach on strategic planning SE from DK: how to improve on culture and leadership in the field of FRM Germany - Sweden DE from SE: how to organize larger long-term projects with different interests, also from other assets SE from DE: how to generally defend against floods. Denmark - Germany DE from DK: How to manage outsourcing activities

Ideas out of TM Hamburg Germany - Netherlands Netherlands - Denmark NL from DE: on operational perspective (good housekeeping, particularly for smaller assets) DE from NL: on failure trees and on information management Netherlands - Denmark DK from NL: on external coordination around dike raising / financing and on strategic perspective (both in relation to the Dutch Delta Program) NL from DK: on external coordination around monitoring and maintenance. Sweden - Netherlands SE from NL: on system analysis, LCC and external coordination (from City of Dordrecht)

Smart idea / goal? Specific. A specific goal is detailed, focused and clearly stated. Everyone reading the goal should know exactly what you want to learn. Measurable (in terms of maturity progress). A measurable goal is quantifiable, meaning you can see the results at the end of FAIR. Attainable. An attainable goal can be achieved based on your skill, resources and area of practice. Hence, it follows from the maturity assessment and speed dates. Relevant. A relevant goal applies to your current role and is clearly linked to your key role responsibilities. Time-limited (within constraints of FAIR). A time-limited goal has specific timelines and a deadline. This will help motivate you to move toward your goal and to evaluate your progress.

Workshop assignment Identify one or two learning goals for each organization and make them SMART. Make a plan together for accomplishing the learning goals. (which activities, when, who, and where?)
