Basic Usage of the Neptun system For exchange students

Studybook Studybook is prepared on the base of the Learning Agreement, it has to be signed by the lectureres after joining the courses

What is the Neptun? Learning System Usages for students: Registering subjects Registering exams Managing timetables Managing grades Communication channel Neptun is a learning system used by almost every university in Hungary. We use it to register subjects and exams, to manage timetables and grades and it also has a communication function.

neptun.sze.hu We arrived to the log in page, where you can select your preferred language from Hungarian, English or German.

Logging in EnterYour Neptun Code (found on the Studybook) Your birth date in YYYYMMDD format To the identifier row comes the Neptun Code and to the password your birth day in year-month-day format without any spaces. It is only true for the first time because you will have to change your password after logging in.

The main interface At the main interface you can see a menu, your messages and a calendar. With the colored circle you can also change the theme of your Neptun.

My data It is really important to check your personal data end in case of an error contact your Faculty Coordinator to correct it. Check your data for errors. If you find any, contact International Office

Studies Under the Studies menu there are several possibilities but the two most important are Timetable and Index.

Subjects Every information about subject can be found at menu Subject.

Subjects – Subject Registration To register a subject you have to go to the Register for subject page. Here you can set the semester, the curriculum, the subject group and the language. After setting all you wanted click on the List subjects button.

Subject list - Ordering By clicking to the headers you can order the subjets.

Confirming the registration In case of successful registration the first message will appear, but if something went wrong you will see the second message. The typical problem is to forgot to select both type of courses.

Subject registration example To register a subject click on the subject’s name, or on the select label.

Subject details Usually subjects requires to register one theoretical and one practical course. In case of only one listed type the subject does not need both course types. Most subjects require registering one theoretical and one practical course. If there are only one type of course, then you only need to register one.

Subjects – Deregistering and modifing subjetcs To deregister or modify a subject registration you have to go to the Registered subject page, click on the plus sign and select the proper option.

Subject – Registered subjects The first option is Registered subject. On this page you can check which subjects you have already registered. Pay attention to select the actual semester!

Subjects – Taken courses At page Taken courses you can see a more detailed version of the previous page. Here are all information about which lesson you choose, who the teacher is etc.

Exams The exam registration is really similar to the subject registration. Under the exam menu there are two option. On Exam registration all the exams are listed of your subjects and on the Selected exam you can check which exams did you register.

Registering exams To register you have to click to the + sign in the selected exam’s row and click on Register.

Deregistering the exam Deregistering is the same, you click on + and after click on deregister.

Studies - Gradebook If you do not see one or some of the taken exams please contact the teacher to register it in the system
