How the Horse Changed the Lives of the Salish Tribes Transportation Hunting Warfare

Transportation In the 16th century, the Spanish explorers found the horse in North America. Horses spread west and north from what is now New Mexico and Texas. Many of the tribes on the plains owned horses. The horse gave many advantages to the tribes. They could travel farther in less time.
