In order to change a stem, you must… 1. Drop the ending (-ar,-er, -ir) 2. Change the STEM **2nd-to-the-last vowel** ex. cerrar, querer 3. Add the correct ending to each form

REMEMBER!!!! The stems change in all forms, EXCEPT the nosotros form

The following are e:i stem-changing verbs

Conseguir (e:i)- to get; to obtain

Decir (e:i)- to say, to tell *Irregular only in the YO form

Pedir (e:i)- to ask for, to request

Seguir (e:i)- to follow, continue
