Buoyant Force Review with Brain Pop!

Build a Better Boat 2 Just when you thought you had it all figured out, the gatekeeper tells you that you that your boat must float through the 5 cm opening and carry two more keys (one hex nut). He wants you to show him a final design that will carry 8 keys (4 hex nuts) and fit through the 5 cm opening. He will then be confident in giving you the keys to the fort.

Criteria and Constraints Build a Boat Float for 20 seconds Carry 8 keys (4 hex nuts) Build and Test in 10 minutes 5” x 5” piece of tinfoil No other materials One get 1 piece of tinfoil Must fit through a 5cm wide opening.

Build a Better Boat 2 Think about what you have learned about density and buoyancy. You are welcome to use ideas of other groups, but you must make sure to give them credit. Keep track of your design(include measurements and labels) and number of keys the boat holds on your Boat Records Sheet.

Prepare your Solution Brief Work together with your team to answer the Solution Brief Questions. Use complete sentences. Answer questions in terms of your 3rd boat If you use ideas from other teams give the credit in number 2. Be prepared to share this information in class tomorrow.
