The Proud Count The Proud Count was loud, stout, wore a shroud and lived in a round house with big grounds. He would shout out as he counted his pounds. The sound wound other people up! The count wound other people up so much that they surrounded him, pounced on him and trounced him. Suggestion on how to use: 1) Read the story to the children without them being able to see it. Ask them to listen for which sound they hear most often in the story? 2) Read the story again, this time with the children able to see it. Which sound did they hear the most? Which letters make that sound?
