Radio Drama

What is a Radio Drama? It is a dramatized, purely acoustic performance, broadcast on radio. With no visual component, radio drama depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the characters and story.

Background Radio Drama was developed in the 20s Extremely popular until the invention of the television in the 1950s. There are still stations in the UK that do radio dramas

Project for the next couple of weeks... You will be writing and performing your own radio dramas!!!! So… let’s start generating some ideas! Everyone get out a pencil and a piece of paper.

On your paper, write: A specific source of light A specific object A sound using an onomatopoeia A specific place When you are done, come and place your paper in a pile on the table at the front of the room.
