How many of you have been in RTI? What is RTI?

Pre-referral Referral Identification Eligibility Development of the IEP Implementation of the IEP Evaluations and reviews When is do an annual review take place? When is a reevaluation due?

IDEA What does IDEA stand for? Individuals with Disabilities Education Act enacted in 1975 by congress What is its’ purpose? It ensures that all children with disabilities are entitled to a free appropriate public education to meet their unique needs and prepare them for future education, employment, and independent living.

Types of Modifications and Accommodations What do you think they are? Why are they important?

What is Inclusion? It is the way that children with special needs are placed in the general education setting with students without disabilities. Sometime student might have aids with them, other are in co teaching classrooms, and some students with disabilities go on their own from class to class. Two main type: Push In ( Student has aid and works directly with student) Full Inclusion ( Co-teaching classroom – a special education teacher is placed in the classroom to help the regular education is the teacher of record and is responsible for classroom instruction.)

Why do we have Inclusion? Why is it important?

Any Questions? What are you still curious about?
