Maria Öberg PhD Candidate in Luleå University of Technology, Sweden 17 years of practice in the field of transport - Local (municipality) - Regional (County adm. + Council) - National (transport agency) - Private (ÅF-consult) - CPMR – BSC (WG transport coord.) - Barents cooperation, EU interreg projects (Concept, InterBaltic, BGLC). -> PhD focused on governance for sustainable transport corridors

Research scope Research questions: How can governance structures and processes support an economic, ecological and socially sustainable Core Network Corridor (CNC)? How can stakeholders benefit from CNC? How can infrastructure planning between levels of governance be strengthened? Expected results: Strategic measures such as complementary forums and stakeholders, knowledge/capacity building for development plans etc.

Methodology Case study of ScanMed corridor: Literature review Document studies of regulations/plans Observations of current governance Questionnaire to directly involved/on-the-corridor stakeholders Interviews with catchment area and peripheral area stakeholders – integrated with the TENtacle interregproject (ScanMed, North SeaBaltic, BalticAdratic, Orient EastMed)

The questionnaire Title: Governance for developing a sustainable transport corridor Content: Participation in corridor forums Perception of sustainability, and how it is integrated in the ScanMed process Focus: Need of complementary governance structures? – if so, how would they be arranged.

Questionnaire process Questionnaire sent by e-mail with brief introduction, highlighting researcher, aims, how results will be spread, anonymity, and contact information. Individual answers anonymous. Results primarily spread among ScanMed stakeholders and included in a doctoral thesis (PhD) and subsequent publications. Your views are important
