What’s the Difference? Rights Privileges Moral and legal entitlement Something an individual is owed. Natural-life, liberty, privacy, happiness Civil- property marriage, protection by law, trial by jury Political-citizenship, to vote, hold public office Something an entity such as government or person such as parents owns that can be granted to an individual Education Drivers license Credit cards Bank account Extra time for assignments Extra credit Tutorials

Responsibility Having a duty to deal with something or of having control over someone. Being accountable or to blame for something. General: Getting to work on time Turning in assignments on time Being prepared for the day Paying Bills Civic: Pay taxes Serve on Jury Obey laws Vote
