Presentation transcript:

Role of Contracting and Procurement Services in WHO Procurement Services assists the Technical Units in successfully implementing their programmes in the countries and is an integral part during the planning process. WHO Technical Units play an important role in pre-qualification, establishing treatment guidelines and supplier's evaluation. Their input is important for global tendering and increased competition . CPS establishes LTAs with suppliers on a large number of products (diagnostics, ACTs, NTDs, IEHK and other kits. The negotiated prices are made available to sister UN Agencies. CPS cooperates with UNICEF and other UN Agencies to forecast global demand on a large number of products covering Malaria, HIV Aids, NTD etc. to be tendered in order increase competitiveness, ensure availability and reduce prices.
