The Integumentary System ■ Anatomy (Structures): capillaries sweat gland, hair, sebaceous gland, epidermis, nerve, dermis Physiology (Function): Protection, production of vitamin D, Waterproof, Temperature Control, Production of melanin, elasticity, sense of touch

The Cardiovascular/Circulatory System Anatomy (Structures): Heart, blood vessels (arteries and veins). Physiology (Function): Brings oxygen, nutrients, and hormones to cells, fights infection, removes cell wastes, helps to regulate/control body temperature.

The Respiratory System Anatomy (Structures): Nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, lungs. (Physiology) Function: Delivers oxygen to cells and removes waste such as carbon dioxide from the body.

The Skeletal System ■ Anatomy (Structures): Bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons. Physiology (Function): Supports the body, protects internal organs, allows movement by attaching muscles, stores minerals, blood cell formation.

The Muscular System Anatomy (Structures): Skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, cardiac muscle. Physiology (Function): Works with skeletal system to produce voluntary movement, helps to circulate blood and move food through the digestive system, moves lymph tissue through the lymphatic system and muscles generate heat.

Lymphatic System Anatomy (Structures): White blood cells, thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, lymph vessels. Physiology (Function): Helps protect the body from disease, collects fluid lost from blood vessels and returns the fluid to the circulatory system, rids the body of toxins and waste.

Directions: Match the organ with the correct organ system. Checking for Understanding Question Directions: Match the organ with the correct organ system. Skeletal 1. trachea Respiratory 2. ligaments Integumentary/Skin 3. quadriceps Cardiovascular/Circulatory 4. blood 5. sweat gland Muscular 6. lymph vessels Lymphatic
