Units of Measurement Why do we measure our world?

Basic Quantities We Measure: Length: How long or tall something is Volume: The amount of space that something occupies or the amount of space something contains Mass: The amount of matter that something is made of. Temperature: The measure of how hot or cold something is.

Derived Quantities: A derived quantity is a combination of two or more measurements. Area: A measure of how much surface and object has Area = Length x Width Density: The amount of mass per volume. The amount of matter in a given space. (How tightly packed together an object is). D = mass/volume

But the rest of the world, uses a different system of units... In America, what units do we use to measure... ...length? ...volume? ...mass? ...temperature? But the rest of the world, uses a different system of units...
