Autosomal Dominant Every affected person has at least one affected parent Each generation will have an affected individual e.g. Huntington’s Chorea, brachydactyly, polydactyly, achondroplasia
Autosomal Recessive Individual expressing trait has two normal parents Two affected parents cannot have an unaffected child e.g. PKU, cystic fibrosis, albinism
X linked pedigree Affected males are connected to unaffected female carriers There is no direct male to male inheritance
