Section 2.3 HISTROGRAM
HISTOGRAM Graphs of continuous (quantitative) data (touching bars) where widths are equal and heights are different. Widths – class boundaries class midpoints lower class limits Heights – frequency
BAR GRAPH VS HISTOGRAM
Example Is this a Histogram?
Lets change it to a Histogram Instead of the x-axis being colors of cars and y- axis being the amount, let us have x-axis be the number of cars and the y-axis be how many colors fit in that category
Relative Frequency Histogram A histogram where the frequency is replaced with a percentage.
SKEWED A distribution of data that is not symmetric. There are two type of skewed Skewed to the right / right skewed / positive skewed Skewed to the left / left skewed / negative skewed
SKEWED TO THE RIGHT
SKEWED TO THE LEFT
EXAMPLE Consider the following The Annual Salaries ($) for 20 Selected Employees at a Local Company 30000 32000 32000 33000 33000 34000 34000 38000 38000 38000 42000 43000 45000 45000 48000 50000 55000 55000 65000 110000
