“There’s a guide for that “There’s a guide for that!” LibGuides at the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network Alana McDonald HLA PD Day July 2016

Why LibGuides? “LibGuides is an easy to use Content Management System used by many thousands of libraries worldwide. Librarians use it to curate knowledge and share information by creating online Guides on any topic, subject, course, on any process, on any thing.” - Springshare - Wanted something to provide equal resources across all Network sites LibGuides allows us to create library guides for all Network staff while also having the flexibility to provide site-specific information when needed Versatile – can be used for many different purposes Can be accessed at home (although guides can also be IP or password protected if required) Fully Bootstrapped and can be heavily customised with CSS, but design and content creation is easy even if you’re not good with those things Responsive – works on mobile displays Includes various types of statistics so we know which guides are being utilised Workaround for IT problems With two different Intranets, LibGuides gives us one central point for Library information
