Background Before During After

Research for Business Question What is next? Why?

Objectives To leverage the brands’ core strengths in new marketing efforts aimed at improving placement opportunities for its graduates. Stakeholder awareness of brands is essential to both inform the development of an overall brand positioning strategy and to create a benchmark against which to measure change

Research Qualitative research was conducted as an initial step in forming an understanding of current marketplace demands. Internal Stakeholder Interviews (N=7, 1 hour each) To identify issues thought to be important to current employer targets from thought leaders’ perspective. Employer Telephone Depth Interviews (N=17, 1 hour each) Current (8) and potential (9) employers of graduates were interviewed to understand marketplace needs and pain points, impressions of the brands, opportunities to deliver a better graduate and/or a better hiring process for prime employer targets and a sense of the language, tonality and reasons to believe that resonate with target employers

Attractive Candidates - Nursing Interview Preparedness Professional appearance, dress, posture, demeanor, verbal skills Asks good questions (those who ask no questions are perceived to be disengaged/not serious about the position) Professional Soft Skills Core proficiency – vitals/assessment, charting with appropriate specificity Computer literate/facile – comfortable with EMR Know (and stay within) their scope of practice

Critical Insights Hiring is skewed towards experience and fit (soft skills), not training Perception in the market that candidates are “book-smart” and not “real world-smart” “For Profit” is not the issue – Perceived Value Concerns of being outdated Clinical Instructors Soft skills training

3 Powerful Predictors of a Successful Healthcare Employee F-I-T Campaign 3 Powerful Predictors of a Successful Healthcare Employee F-I-T Flexible Inspired Team-oriented

Strategic Cornerstones Continue to emphasize Professional Development with Students Hammer home the “Quality” argument with Employers State the rigors of educational programs when compared to traditional universities Address “Expensive” vs Value Inform employers of the spectrum of candidate specialties that are offered Be cutting edge and innovative
