Emily Coates FMP Initial Presentation ‘ NAME OF GAME’

Concept and Aim of Project For my Final Major Project I propose to design characters and environments for a mobile gaming app within the fantasy genre. My target audience will be a combination of young adults and seasoned gaming audiences.

Research to Undertake Primary Research My main research will focus around how to go about creating environmental concept art alongside the themes of forgotten cultures and their deities. I will also have to research into how about to structure a narrative for a game setting. Primary Research Landscape Images (including rural and urban settings) Texture research – images of cobble stones, trees and rivers Secondary Research Pinterest board Concept art books Landscape design sources Mythology and anthropological books Photography books of various terrain (European, Antartic, African etc)

Skill and Technique Development For this project I will need to improve my ability to design physical forms and anatomy I will also have to develop my ability to draw landscapes and create a three dimensional depth I aim to expand my style to include a more graphic approach to my illustrations alongside strengthening my ability to digitalize my work And lastly I hope to provide a more refined and sophisticated approach to my work and continue to develop my sketchbook presentation
