Waste Collection Services Rules & Guidelines The City of Union City has renewed its partnership with Waste Industries to provide all residents with curbside waste collection services. The following are now included: Weekly Curbside Garbage Service (95 gallon cart included) Weekly Curbside Bulk & Yard Waste Removal Weekly Curbside Recycling Service (65 gallon cart included) Curbside Garbage Collection Guidelines Carts must be placed at the curb no later than 7:00am on your scheduled day of service. All garbage must be bagged and placed inside the container. Please pay close attention to the cart placement guidelines included in this flyer. The front of the container is where the lid opens. The wheels are on the rear of the container. The front of the container should face the street and the rear of the container should face your home. Curbside Bulk & Yard Waste Collection Guidelines You must call Waste Industries at 770-474-9273 to be added to the Bulk & Yard Waste collection schedule. This must occur no less than 24 hours before your scheduled day of service. The maximum number of bulk items to be collected each week is three (3). A higher number of items can be removed by calling for a Special Pickup for a flat rate of $150.00. (No Construction Material) Leaves and grass clippings must be bagged (plastic or paper yard waste bags only) and placed at the curb no later than 7:00am on your scheduled day of service. Twigs, limbs, and branches should be neatly piled for collection and may not exceed four (4) feet in length. All of the yard waste material combined may not exceed four (4) cubic yards (approximately the size of the bed of a standard pick-up truck). If your pile is Non-Compliant and you would like Waste Industries to remove it anyway, you can call for a Special Pickup for a flat rate of $150.00. Curbside Recycling Collection Guidelines Carts must be placed at the curb no later than 6:00am on your scheduled day of service. Though bagged recyclables are acceptable to place inside the container, we would prefer that they be unbagged. It makes processing easier upon delivery. When in doubt, leave it out! (NO GLASS EVER!) Acceptable Recycling Materials: Cardboard Boxes Junk Mail & Magazines & Newspaper Phone Books Office Paper Plastic Jugs, Bottles, & Jars Plastic Water & Soft Drink Bottles Aluminum & Tin Cans
