Deliverable 1.3 “Presentation Framework”

SmartResource prototype environment

Component Set JCA

Deliverable 1.3, Task 4 Task T4 (Implementation of the semantic adapter for device) Specification of the KF-330 blow molding machine was used for simulation of the device data (7 device parameters); Corresponding XML-schema and XML-generator have become more sophisticated; Maintenance ontology has been extended by specific classes related to the machine. These device data allowed deeper analysis of human adapter (data visualization), … and better analysis of the Web Service learning process.

2-stage transformation Deliverable 1.3, Task 5 Task T5 (Implementation of the semantic adapter for web service) WSDD KNN-Service SOAP Service engine EJB Container client SOAP Application Server Application Server Adapter Service Adapter 2-stage transformation RDQL-templates WSDL LOMBOZ Learning algorithm (KNN-method) was wrapped by a web service container using Axis and Lomboz; Service Adapter using generated SOAP-client simulates agent’s requests for learning and diagnostics; For RscDF-XML transformations, Service Adapter uses approach of 2-stage transformation with RDQL-templates.

2-stage transformation Deliverable 1.3, Task 6 Task T6 (Implementation of the semantic adapter for human) 2-stage transformation UI-templates Expert Adapter Expert Agent Servlet EJB Container JFreeChart Application Server “Expert” Labels States Device Agent Servlet Expert Adapter utilizes 2-stage transformation and User Interface Templates for flexible building of a specific human interface; Human Expert is requested for a diagnostics via e-mail; As a user interface use case, JFreeChart Java package and HTML representation are used.

Deliverable 1.3, Task 7 Task T7 (Implementation of the maintenance environment prototype v1.0) RscDF-repository Ontology Histories Expert Adapter Device Adapter Service Adapter Web Client Control servlet JSP EJB Container Web Container Application Server

Summary During the last term Deliverable D1.3 has been completed. Adaptation Stage of the SmartResource project (year 2004) has been finished as planned. The methodology of General Adaptation of (industrial) resource to Semantic Web environment was developed and analyzed using practical approach. To increase a market value of the GAF-methodology, comprehensive tests with different real-world resources must be conducted. The project team has gained much experience during this project period, 3 members graduated into Masters. Significant set of development tools/technologies has been mastered (development portfolio). New contacts have been established with other similar research groups and projects, the team has understood deeper the needs of the funding companies and their strategies. About 20 research papers have been written/published.
